The Madlug™ Movement
Madlug was founded in 2015 by Dave Linton. A man whose only experience in the luggage industry was bags of enthusiasm. He was heartbroken when he learned that most children in care have their belongings moved in a bin bag.
In that moment, Dave set out to do something about it. With £480, he started Madlug and came up with our ‘Buy one, Wear one, Help one’ approach. With every bag purchased, a pack-away travel bag goes to a child in care.

Our Model
To maximise our impact we have created a new structure of a social enterprise. This is by linking a community interest company and a registered charity around a central purpose. Both committed to the same mission with different roles.
Madlug C.I.C is a registered community interest company (NI630572) and started in 2015. Madlug Foundation Ltd joined the movement in 2019 and is a registered charity (NI660774).
Primary roles of each organisation
Madlug C.I.C sells luggage to raise funds for pack-away bags.
Madlug Foundation Ltd co-ordinates and delivers the bags to children in care.
