French Press / Cafetière Brewing Recipe
Elevate your coffee experience with our French Press recipe! Here’s how to brew the perfect cup:
-
Coffee-to-Water Ratio: We recommend a 1:16 ratio. For 2-3 servings, use 40 grams of coffee (about 8 tablespoons) and 640ml of water.
-
Heat Water: In a kettle, heat water to around 93°C.
-
Prepare Coffee: Weigh 40g (about 8 tablespoons) of medium to coarse ground coffee.
-
Begin Brewing: Pour in the ground coffee to your french press. Start a timer and pour 100ml of hot water over the grounds, fully saturating them. Let the coffee rest (bloom) for 30 seconds to enhance the flavour.
-
Add Water: After 30 seconds, pour additional hot water into the French Press until you reach a total of 640ml. Give the coffee a gentle stir.
-
Steep: Allow the coffee to steep for 5-6 minutes.
-
Press and Serve: Place the lid on the brewer and gently press the filter down. Pour and serve immediately, or transfer to another carafe to prevent over-extraction, which can lead to bitterness.
Enjoy your beautifully brewed French Press coffee!
